The Acadiana Resource Conservation and Development Council is a non-profit organization that addresses the social, environmental and economical concerns of south central Louisiana. Our primary focus is on the conservation, development and utilization of natural resources in Acadia, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes.
Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) is a unique program with the USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service and locally led volunteers which help people care for and protect their natural resources in a way that improves the local economy, environment, and living standards. The Acadiana RC&D Council, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization which provides a way for people to work together to plan and carry out activities to create a better environment.
The RC&D Program consists of 375 RC&D Council nationwide. Each RC&D Council is organized and directed by local people to meet local needs. The RC&D program identifies and solves problems in rural communities that include human, economic, and environmental issues. RC&D addresses local problems by obtaining assistance from the private sector, corporations, foundations, and all levels of government.
